| Cosmetic Surgery of the Face and Body Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Sharon T McLaughlin MD FACS Offices in Wantagh 516-221-2552 and New Hyde Park 516-354-2050 |
| Considering cosmetic enhancement? I strive to give beautiful, natural results. Depending on the procedure I use local anesthesia and small incisions when possible. Take the time and visit the website where you can get information. Non-surgical methods such as skin care, face peels and injectables can be found on the "Look Younger in Minutes" page. Our before and after gallery can be found in "Face and Body procedures". On these pages you can learn more about the surgical procedures that may benefit you. It is important to feel comfortable with the surgeon you choose. I will assist you from your first consult all the way through your post-operative care. My staff and I make every effort to provide you with a warm and friendly atmosphere so that you may feel comfortable with the choices that you make. I keep up with the latest techniques so that I may offer only the best to my patients. My dedication allows me to provide the highest quality of patient care possible. I am an experienced Board Certified Plastic Surgeon which is the only group of cosmetic surgeons recognized by the American Board of medical specialities. Beware of your surgeons credentials, some doctors will promote themselves as plastic surgeons. These so called "plastic surgeons" may be dermatologists or internal medicine. They will advertise board certified but you need to ask what they are board certified in. Proper training consists of doing a fellowship with in plastic surgery. Truthfully would you want a dermatologist doing plastic surgery on you anyway if their training was based on a weekend course somewhere? In my plastic surgery fellowship I was extensively trained in facial rejuvenation and body contouring. My training consisted of a rigorous 5 year general surgery program where I mastered anatomy and surgical technique. During those years I was trained in head and neck reconstruction and was challenged by the technical demands needed for vascular and cardiothoracic surgery. I then went on to do a fellowship in plastic surgery where I specialized in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Since finishing in 2000 I have focused my efforts on cosmetic surgery of the face and body. Giving back to the community is important to me, my office funds the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I also make time to perform facial skin cancer reconstruction. The work is challenging and rewarding. |
